Visitors CAN participate in Carnival which begins in January in French St Martin, and In March in Dutch St Maarten. Which means that from January to May, there are continuous carnival events. Any visitor interested in participating in the wild bachannalia that is SXM carnival, can contact the Troup organisors a few months in advance to make arrangements, and pay for costumes.
